I can tutor people online for USMLE Step 1, MCAT, and many undergraduate topics. My fees are $200/hr. Not everyone can afford that, so I'm working on democratizing medical test prep. However, if you are in significant need of 1-on-1 tutoring, or need that extra edge to get you to the 90th+ percentile, I can make time in my schedule if you reach out.
I accept payment by Venmo or other electronic transfers after every session, and bill by the minute for contact time only (no breaks or delays in connecting). Send an email to email@example.com to schedule a session. I always require some info about my students first (Major, curriculum, GPA, prior testing and prep history.) I do not bill for time spent discussing this.
If it seems like I am doing a lot of work before beginning with any student, that is absolutely correct. I do not tutor people who cannot benefit from my time. I have told students to go take more classes, to delay taking their tests and take a gap year, and even that I can do nothing for them because they were unwilling to change their attitude towards learning. I have no problems acting against my own economic interests in order to bring high value to a student.
I am not an easy teacher. I demand obedience to the method because it is what I have discovered to work, time and time again, with students with all sorts of ability ranges. The "English-language summary statements" I use to encapsulate high-yield understandings are the result of in-field improvisation and fire-testing. The interwoven techniques of repetition, Socratic dialogue, prepared and ad-hoc illustration, animations and videos comprise the most effective way to convey fundamental understanding. It will not be quick, for the mountain of knowledge is large, but it will be the quickest route to deep comprehension, which is how you crush exams and classes.
Think of me as your mental personal trainer. I have studied how the human brain works since I was 17. Let me program yours using the brain's base code.
